Hoppy Easter

Here's hoping everyone had a safe and happy holiday.

I know that the true reason for the Easter season is that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the grave on Easter.  That is the best gift ever.

But, there is something special about the "first" of any holiday with a small child.  The big eyes when they see the baskets on the couch.  The sheer joy of pulling out surprise stuff.  Yesterday was Tiffany's first Easter.  She received a sunny yellow outfit and stuffed ducky holding an Easter egg from her Abuela Lydia.  She got a bee pillow pet from Louis.  She got a Thumper bunny rabbit from her great-grandparents the Henagan's.  She got a hopping bunny toy from the Mindaks.  She had lunch with lots of hugs and kisses with the Pittman side of the family.  The Easter bunny brought her a basketball and a soccer ball, plus books and bubbles.

Every child should be loved like this.  Even though all of the folks mentioned could not be with Tiff, they made sure she knew she was loved.

On to the non canine kid.

Tiffany is the most amazing little kid.  She is almost one year old.  She has 4 teeth with a few more working their way in.  She has already had one haircut and will be needing another before too long.  She sleeps all night and plays hard all day.  She loves without conditions and everyone else in the world would be wise to use her as an example of how to live.........

Now where did we leave off????????????

Oh yeah, the empire....dachshunds.  Awesome little dogs.  Sweet, friendly, loyal, lovable, loud, digging maniacs.  That pretty much covers everything needed to be known about the basics of dachshunds.  The deeper stuff will come out as time progresses.   And there is deeper stuff as any and every dachshund owner knows.  That is part of the adventure of having a dachshund.

About the picture....

This is not a dachshund.  This is Tiffany.  My adorable, sweet, wonderful granddaughter.  She is the two legged ruler of Dachsieland.

We're Number One

or at least we are making post number one  :-)        Everybody has got to start somewhere.

Dachiseland-home to Fran, Jeff, Tiffany and the evil empire of dachshunds (and one maltese).  It's pretty sad when someone asks how many dogs you have and you have to stop and think about it.  That happened to me last week.........I was only off by one though.  So lets run through the introductions:  JJ, Dixie, JB, Butterfly, Terra, Rowdie, Artie, Penny, Link, Oscar and Yeti.  Yep that is all of them.

More on the details of the empire as the day progresses...
